Yolo Food Bank and its partner agencies will distribute 2,200 meal kits throughout the week of November 14-18 from 11 locations countywide – serving both cities and rural communities – in the days prior to Thanksgiving. Each meal kit will include a turkey, a variety of fresh seasonal produce, and other ingredients to complete a classic Thanksgiving meal.

Who:  Yolo Food Bank and its partner agencies

When:  Saturday, November 18, 2023, 8:00 a.m. for Woodland residents only at Yolo County Fairgrounds. Distributions for other Yolo County communities will occur throughout the week of November 14-18, 2023. (Please see details below.) Media are invited to attend the Woodland distribution. Contact Maria Segoviano (contact information at top), to arrange an advance interview with executive director and community members such as volunteers or food recipients.

Where
:  1250 Gum Avenue, Woodland, CA 95776
It is a drive-through food distribution with walk-up option, first-come, first-served.
See details below under “Woodland. More information available at https://yolofb.org/YGGFoodDistribution

Why:  As the holidays approach, vulnerable populations in our community face even greater challenges to put food on the table. At a time when inflation continues to be high (with reports by USDA Economic Research Service indicating food prices are predicted to rise 5.8%), we are seeing demand for food assistance up 20% across our distributions.

To be eligible for a meal kit, individuals must:

  • Be a resident of Yolo County
  • Where required, pre-register for a meal kit in area of residence. Otherwise, meal kits are available while supplies last
  • Provide proof of local residence – this may include a driver license, state I.D. card, or a bill or other mail sent to a Yolo County address
  • More information available at https://yolofb.org/YGGFoodDistribution
