Over the years, we have been deeply moved by the unwavering generosity and support of our financial donors. Since Yolo Food Bank’s humble beginnings over 50 years ago, our journey has been a testament to the power of community. Yolo County has always been a place that comes together to support those in need.

Our supporters are true partners in our mission, and it is this strong collaboration that drives us forward. Now, we invite you to make an even greater impact by joining our new Monthly Giving Program — an easy, powerful way to ensure lasting change in Yolo County.

The Power of Your Monthly Gift

By becoming a monthly donor, you create a steady, reliable source of support that allows Yolo Food Bank to plan for the future with confidence. This financial stability means we can focus less resources on fundraising efforts and more on our core mission of feeding the community — creating sustainable, long-term solutions to food insecurity in Yolo County.

Even small monthly donations make a significant difference. They not only enhance our long-term planning, but also enable us to better respond to crises effectively in the short-term. Just skipping a gourmet coffee once a month adds up over time!

 Why Others Give

We recently spoke with Dan and Karen M., one of Yolo Food Bank’s dedicated monthly donor couples. When asked why they choose to support Yolo Food Bank monthly, they said:

“We are so impressed with the impact the staff and volunteers are having throughout Yolo County. It’s clear Yolo Food Bank is making a huge difference in addressing food insecurity needs in the region, and it’s gratifying to know the organization is such a great steward of both financial and in-kind donations. Giving monthly with an automatic deduction is super easy and a great way to sustain our support for years to come.”

The Difference You Make

Your monthly donation makes a real, tangible impact on individuals, families, students, seniors, farmworkers, and others in Yolo County who need a helping hand. Many of the families who attend our distributions just need a safety net to get through difficult times. Take Bobby and Linda for example. Twenty-three years ago, Bobby and Linda moved to Davis with their three children — a newborn, and kids aged six and eleven.

“It was a really hard time; the move drained us, and we had almost nothing left. We didn’t have jobs lined up yet, and it was a time of huge uncertainty,” Bobby recalled. A neighbor told them about Yolo Food Bank, and for a month and a half, they attended distributions to meet their family’s basic needs.

“Because of Yolo Food Bank, we were able to feed our kids. Without it, I have no idea what we would’ve done,” Bobby said. With Yolo Food Bank’s help, they got back on their feet. Today, Bobby and Linda’s lives are much different — Bobby has a great job with the State, plays in a band, and Linda is a successful quail farmer. “We have such a great life now, and all my kids are grown, happy, and healthy,” Bobby shared.
