Lawyers vs. Hunger 2023
Join the fight against hunger by giving to Yolo Food Bank through Lawyers vs. Hunger 2023!
Lawyers vs Hunger is an initiative where attorneys and law firms band together with local food agencies and the general public to fight hunger in our community. It started in 2014 with two food banks and one law firm and provided over 12,000 meals to folks in need. Since then the challenge has grown to include multiple law firms and food agencies and provided 349,593 meals in 2022. For 2023, the goal for the campaign at large is to provide more than 390,000 meals.
Yolo County is one of the most productive agricultural regions in the state. Yet, it is also one of the most impoverished in all of California. It has now been more than three years since the start of the pandemic, and once again Yolo Food Bank is responding to an increase in food assistance demand triggered by the termination of safety net programs that were put in place during the pandemic. Demand for food assistance is up 20% from last year. Meanwhile, donations and resources are on the decline. All while Yolo Food Bank nourishes more than 21,000 households each month through 145 distribution events and 84 partner agencies each month.
Your gift during the Lawyers Versus Hunger annual campaign will be matched dollar for dollar. Join this effort and help sustain this critical resource for our community.
